Nottinghamshire County Council electric-blanket safety-testing event
Unsafe electric mattress blankets can cause fires – have you ever had yours tested? Your blanket can have a FREE safety test on 16 March 2026 at Worksop Library - appointments must be pre booked by calling 0115 804 4555.

Any electric mattress blanket that is brought in which fails electrical safety testing will be replaced on the day with a new electric mattress blanket. You will not receive your unsafe blanket back – it will be disposed of accordingly. The replacement blankets are of a standard specification. (Please remember to bring the power cable for your blanket with you to the event!)

Avoid buying a second-hand electric blanket and always make sure any blanket you purchase displays the British or European standard and a safety certification mark. Blanket fires can be fatal!
